Rotary Club of Reading
Reading Rotary is a Service Organization dedicated to the Rotary Motto: Service Above Self.
We meet weekly for lunch and fellowship, but more importantly we engage in community service and fundraising to be contributed right back to the community.
Our friends, sponsors and donor's generosity with our fundraising helps us support many community projects.
Reading Rotary’s projects have included:
Running Snack Shack at RMHS football field;
Serving meals at Our Brother's Table in Lynn and Rosie's Place in Boston;
Finance purchase of Peter Sanborn Place van for all Reading seniors;
Distribution of trees to all Reading Public School 5th Graders annually;
Distribution of dictionaries, thesauruses or reading books to RPS students annually;
Purchase of defibrillators on RFD vehicles;
Purchase defibrillator trainer devices;
Purchase of flags for the Downtown area;
Support Reading Scholarship Fund;
Support Reading Education Foundation;
Support Reading Engineering (Robockets) Team;
Purchase of Library computers and furniture;
Support Reading Food Pantry;
Support Mission of Deeds;
Create Rotary Park at the Depot;
Support Burbank YMCA facility building project;
Support Rotaplast (cleft palate reconstruction project for Third World patients);
Support PolioPlus, international project for eradication of polio worldwide;
Established and helped finance Bolivian Street Children Project;
Support Reading's Adopt a Family project;
and many more.
