Our International Project is a success. The Rotary Educational Center is up an running. It will be instrumental in breaking the cycle of poverty and homelessness for these kids. We should be proud to be making a gigantic impact in children's lives.
We provided over 5,000$ in educational tools and supplies for the center.
We also now have a framework in place to ask for larger grants from Rotary International to benefit the less fortunate children of the world.
Congratulations to our club and to the La Paz Club for making this happen. There were some bumps in the road, but as a whole the project went smoother than expected. The La Paz club really stepped up to get this done.
Take a look at the attached photo's from the Bolivian Street Project's Rotary Educational Center.
Comments describing the pictures:
first 3 are of the boys using the new computers, desks, etc. the last 3 are pics of some of the educational materials that were purchased as well as the computer monitors, etc before they were installed. In the last picture the guy in the navy jacket on the left is Pato, he's our current interim site director in La Paz. I don't recognize the guy in the white shirt on the right, so I'm assuming that is someone from the La Paz club. Once all of the supplies arrived they had a little ceremony type thing, presenting everything to the boys/organization so that is what that picture is from.
